Overview of Product Capabilities

WebQuiz Writer is a productivity tool that is intended to provide a comprehensive test management system for instructors in primary, secondary, and higher education. It provides the following functionality.

• WebQuiz writer organizes questions using a simple categorization method. Teachers organization their questions into simple categories, and then input questions into these categories.

• WebQuiz Writer can produce Web-based practice tests (that do not record student results), Web-based exams (that do record results to a database), as well as traditional printed tests.

• Instructors can include multiple choice, true/false, and multiple answer type question formats. Questions can have up to five possible responses.

• Practice tests, WebQuiz Exams, and printed tests can consist of questions selected randomly from the database, or questions selected by the instructor.

• Practice tests, WebQuiz Exams, and printed tests can consist of questions taken from one category, or all available categories.

• Individual score reports are provided to the student, regardless of whether they are taking a WebQuiz Practice Test or a WebQuiz Exam. The score reports contains student results, correct answers, and explanations.

• Instructors can access score reports for each test, and have the option to have results forwarded to them by e-mail.

• WebQuiz Writer includes passive spell checking. Misspelled words are underlined in red as you are typing. The instructor can right-click on the misspelled word, and a list of suggestions appears.

• WebQuiz Writer is Secure-Socket-Layers (SSL) capable, which will all an extra layer of security on top of the WebQuiz Writer security module.

WebQuiz Practice tests are built using client-side javascript technology. They are executed on the client-side by the Web browser and will work with all Web-servers. WebQuiz Exams are written using Microsoft Active Server Page (ASP) technology. They are executed on the server, and require the use of Microsoft Internet Information Server or Microsoft Personal WebServer running on Windows 95/98/NT/2000.
