Our angling heritage, of more than 500 years, provides a memorable or humorous observation every time you use the program.

Use the "Introduction" screen to select the Diary type for you. Use the "Offshore" Diary if you record GPS coordinates. If you are a fly fisherman use the "Fly" Diary to access the specialized fly-fishing screens and libraries. All other types of fishing are covered by the "General" Diary type.

If you catch-and-release then select "Length" and the weight can be calculated for you.

You can choose between Imperial and Metric units and also between North American and British date conventions.

The "Summary of the Day" screen is the starting screen to enter the information for a day's fishing including any notes. Use it to summarize the day.
The "Summary of Fish Caught" screen allows you to summarize all the fish that you caught on that particular day by species. This is the Classic diary level of information and, if you wish, you can stop at this level. Alternatively you can enter more detailed information by using the "Detailed" screens

The "Details of Fish Caught" screen allows you to enter the specific information for each fish that you caught. Typically there are 13 fields that include everything from the exact location, the size, lure, bait or fly to your tackle rig up. There is also a field for your notes.

Weather conditions are extremely important in any type of fishing. The "Weather Conditions" screen allows you to record detailed weather conditions of the day. Nine different weather parameters ranging from the sky conditions to the tide can be recorded.

It is perhaps just as important to know what the fish are feeding on and the "Feed/Hatch" screen allows you to record either the feed that was showing when you were fishing or the insect hatches.

The "Photographs" screen allows you to store your scanned photographs or if you have a digital camera the images can be imported directly from the camera. BMP's use the Windows built-in viewer. JPG's, GIF's and other formats will use either your image viewer or browser.
The Fishing Diary + Database comes with 26 pre-programmed libraries and lists that are fully customizable. Use these as the basis for your own particular information.

One of the most important screens for fly fisherman is the "Fly Patterns and the Insects that they Imitate" screen. The Fishing Diary + Database comes with a library of 500 fly patterns together with a list of 200 aquatic insects. Use this screen to access, edit and add to the library. If the specific image is not available for a particular fly pattern then a generic style is shown. If you tie your own flies, you can simply scan the fly using a scanner and import the image into the fly pattern library.

The "Reports" screen allows you to preview and print 18 reports and forms. The Diary reports access and search your records. Use the Field Diary forms to print field diaries that you can use to take notes when you are fishing. The Library reports print your customized information together with the database libraries.
